In an exclusive interview for Fortunamag.az, he shared his views on the unifying power of art, the cultural mission of diplomacy, and the importance of creative platforms in fostering dialogue and mutual understanding between nations.

— What role does art play in your life, including your work as an ambassador?
— In my diplomatic work, I see art and culture not merely as tools, but as a “second language” of diplomacy that forms its foundation and lifeblood.
As a representative of a country that deeply understands the importance of “soft power,” I continuously strive to develop my artistic and cultural sensitivity. For me, art and culture are as essential as water to a fish—without them, it is impossible to build deep international relations.
— What is the power of art and culture as a diplomatic instrument?
— Art and culture are, in my view, one of the most powerful ways to win people’s hearts in diplomacy.
They help bridge emotional gaps that political or economic arguments cannot fill, thereby fostering trust and mutual understanding.
In particular, art can overcome language barriers and create a favorable atmosphere between nations, which is a key foundation for diplomatic success.
— What are the strategies for cultural dialogue between countries?
— My diplomatic efforts are aimed not only at one-sided cultural promotion but also at mutual understanding.
To promote Korea in Azerbaijan, K-POP events, culinary presentations, and Korean film screenings are actively organized. Taekwondo demonstrations and cultural performances also serve as effective platforms to present the spirit of Korea.
At the same time, I strive to better understand Azerbaijani culture. Mugham music, literature, and performing arts are an essential part of cultural dialogue and help strengthen friendship between the two countries.
— What cultural diplomacy initiatives are currently being implemented and what future directions are important?
— The Embassy annually hosts K-POP competitions and “K-Week” events in Azerbaijan, confirming the strong interest in Korean culture.
In addition, a joint stage performance featuring Azerbaijani artists and Korean traditional musicians and dancers was successfully organized.
In the future, cooperation is planned to expand in the fields of digital art and architectural design, which will further deepen cultural exchange between the two countries.
