International business forum in Estonia within the ‘Trade Mission Central Baltic’ project for Azerbaijan – Latvia, Estonia, Finland
A large-scale forum dedicated to the development of business relations between Azerbaijan, Latvia, Estonia and Finland, entitled “International Business Forum: Azerbaijan in the spotlight – new business opportunities”, was held in Tallinn, the capital of Estonia, within the framework of the “LEF Network Azerbaijan” project, implemented with the official partnership of the “Caspian Energy Club”. The director of LEF network Azerbaijan is Ms Liga Siceva, and director of the EU Projects Department of the LCCI.
This was reported by Ms Sada Musayeva, the Editor-in-Chief of Fortuna Magazine, being on a visit to Estonia. The event began with the opening speech of Mr Mait Palts, Director General of the Estonian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Mr Ahti Kuningas, Secretary General of the Estonian Ministry of Economy and Communications, Mr Anar Maharramov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Azerbaijan to Estonia, and Mr Vaino Reynart, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Estonia to Azerbaijan, made speeches and assessed the importance of regional economic integration, mutual interests of partner countries and existing opportunities for future cooperation.



Later, Mr Rasim Mahmudov, Chairman of the Caspian Energy Club Europe, delivered a keynote speech on the topic “Azerbaijan’s Economy in Figures” and presented the country’s macroeconomic indicators, the stable economic dynamics that have been formed in recent years, the favorable investment climate, and the expanding potential in the non-oil sector to the audience.

Ms Liga Sicheva, Director of the European Union Projects Department of the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, demonstrated the results of the “LEF Network Azerbaijan” project and brought to the attention of the participants a special video reflecting the successes of initiatives aimed at strengthening cooperation between businesses in Azerbaijan, Latvia, Estonia and Finland, as well as the dynamic growth of inter-company integration.

During the first panel dedicated to new business opportunities between the Central Baltic countries and Azerbaijan, the development prospects of Azerbaijani-Baltic business relations, new areas for increasing trade turnover, partnership formats within the startup ecosystem and existing successful projects were discussed.
The following spoke during the first panel:
- Mr Mikko Pakkasela, Master of Industrial Engineering, Research Director at SAMK and expert in business analytics and SME development;
- Mr Karim Ali, specialist in international trade, circular economy and business diplomacy, development director at GMM Finland;
- Ms Liga Sicheva, Director of the European Projects Department at LCCI, with over 15 years of international project management experience;
- Dr. Shabnam Nuriyeva, Head of the Career Center at the Azerbaijan State Customs Committee (ASCCA), PhD in political science, PPD, expert in state-business dialogue and training;
- Mr Lauri Haav, CEO of //Kood and former head of the Estonian e-Residency program.

In the second panel on the topic “The role of artificial intelligence in enhancing international cooperation”, participants emphasized the broad and transformative opportunities created by artificial intelligence technologies in public administration, industry, startup environments and business processes.
The following speakers spoke during the second panel:
- Mr Vattan PS, entrepreneur and creator of the AI ecosystem, founder of the Agency.AI and Founderly projects;
- Mr Otto Mättas, researcher at Tallinn University of Technology in applied AI;
- Mr Imants Bergs, CEO of Turiba Business University;
- Mr Pekka Suominen, senior researcher at the RoboAI research center, PhD in physics;
- Mr Ilkin Huseynov, Head of the Strategic Development and Economic Analysis Department of the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of the Republic of Azerbaijan.


The forum was concluded with extensive discussions between the participants on topics of mutual interest.
